The Clear Lake Sailing Club is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) educational organization operating south of Houston Texas in the Clear Lake / Bay Area. Created in 1969, CLSC members generally sail dinghies (sailboats under 20 feet) on Clear Lake. The club holds fun day sails and series races on scheduled Saturdays throughout the year. |

LEARN TO SAIL Every Spring, we offer an "Introduction to Sailing" class. The course consists of 3 consecutive Saturday morning classroom lessons. Upon completion, participants practice hands-on rigging of a small sailboat and experience a one hour on-the-water demonstration. Classes are targeted to beginners interested in the sport of small sailboat sailing. Class size is limited to the first 12 registrations. The $75 fee covers an annual one year membership in our club. CLASS REGISTRATION -First session CLASS REGISTRATION -Second session In the news: Galveston County "The Daily News" and more news We also offer an "Intermediate Sailing Class" when participation warrants. This series of class lessons focuses on more advanced sailing skills and an Introduction to Racing. For details, contact us. SOCIAL SAILING Throughout the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons we are offering opportunities to enjoy weekend sailing in the Greater Houston area. Bring out your boat and sail with us. For details, contact us. RACES 2009 CLSC Regattas We sponsor informal racing periodically throughout the year. Annual "Waiting for the Great Pumpkin" Regatta CLSC hosts a fun annual regatta in October. This two day weekend event includes approximately four races and an evening group dinner. There are plenty of local hotels and we arrange for temporary boat storage. Past participants have traveled from Dallas, Austin, Corpus Christi and all points between. We encourage small sailboat sailing! But you need to understand that water sports in general carry some risk. Please read and sign the waiver prior to participating in our club events. SAILBOATS Need a hand getting your boat ready to sail? Our members have experience and are happy to help out. Throughout the year, we are happy to offer free public sailboat clinics to assist you in getting your sailboat rigged and on the water. Just contact us for upcoming opportunities. No boat yet? Sometimes, we have donated boats available for purchase with a very small fee. Club members also have boats for sale occassionally. As a non-profit organization, we also offer free advice for purchasing your own small sailboat. Have a boat that you'd like to donate to us? Donate your boat to our club and consider a tax deduction for your donation.
